Registered Massage Therapy

A note on availability: As of January 2026, new patients are no longer being accepted for general massage therapy, with the exception of referrals from existing patients or other healthcare practitioners. This change reflects a natural evolution in practice toward the areas of deepest training and greatest alignment: acupuncture, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and CranioSacral Therapy. New patients are warmly welcomed for MLD, CST, acupuncture, and community acupuncture. Please note that booking MLD or CST does not qualify as an existing massage therapy patient relationship.

Massage therapy at Fireweed Wellness is grounded in a slow, steady, and deeply relaxing approach. The style is firm and therapeutic, but always delivered in a way that supports the nervous system rather than overwhelming it. Treatments are generally passive and the client rests comfortably while the body is encouraged to soften and unwind at its own pace. Pressure is always adjusted to comfort and preference so each session feels both effective and safe.

The focus is on nervous system grounding through long, connected flows that help release tension without force. This is an unhurried, quiet treatment environment where the body is given space to settle and shift gradually. Those seeking a more active session with regular stretching, mobility work, or frequent limb movement may find a different RMT is a better fit and that's completely okay. The intention here is a different kind of effective.

With a background spanning varsity athletics, methadone clinics, neurological care facilities, integrated health clinics, spas, and mountain lodge environments, there is a broad understanding of different bodies, injuries, and stress patterns informing every session, even as the personal treatment style remains slow, grounding, and restorative.

Scar Work

Gentle, focused techniques are offered to support mobility, circulation, and comfort around both new and older scars. This work is careful, unhurried, and can make a meaningful difference in how a scar feels over time.

TMJ & Intraoral Work

TMJ concerns are a particular area of interest, including intraoral techniques when appropriate and with informed consent. This can be especially helpful for clients experiencing jaw tension, clenching, headaches, or stress-related holding patterns in the face and neck.

A note on TCM modalities

Acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, and other Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques are not performed during massage therapy sessions. These modalities are offered exclusively through the R.Ac practice and booked separately.

Massage therapy here is well suited for people who appreciate sustained pressure, a slower pace, and a calm and grounding session. The intention is always the same. Steady, supportive care that respects the body's own timing.
